Non-invasive prenatal testing using free cell DNA, small parts of your baby’s DNA which circulate in your blood, has been shown to have a high level of accuracy in showing whether your baby has Down’s Syndrome, with slightly lower sensitivity to Edward’s and Patau’s Syndromes. Testing is carried out with a blood test and a scan and can be carried out at any time from 10 weeks of pregnancy.
NIPT testing is offered privately by Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. A scan is required prior to this to ensure that your gestation is at least 10 weeks, which we are happy to carry out for you. The price of this scan will vary depending on what stage of pregnancy you are, so please contact us for more information.
